POLICE – Witnesses hold homicide suspect until RCMP arrive

Witnesses jumped in to keep a man from leaving the scene of a possible homicide near the 9000 block of Dallas Drive on Saturday night.

RCMP responding to a report of a disturbance at about 9:30 p.m. found the man being held down by several others, and took him into custody. They then found the body of a man who had succumbed to injuries.

Sgt. Darren Michels said today (Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017) the death is considered suspicious.

The investigation is now being led by the Kamloops Serious Crime Section in partnership with the B.C. Coroners Service and anyone with information is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
