CHARBONNEAU – Either Canada is a young country, or I’m old

charbonneaucolhedCanada is 150 years old this year. Since I’m one-half that age, Canada must be a young country. Or I’m old. It must be the former.

We had humble beginnings, Canada and I. I was born in Jasper Place, now part of Edmonton but in 1941 it was a rudimentary town. We had no water or sewer. The bucket in the indoor toilet had to be emptied regularly to the outhouse in the back.

  1. -You’re not too old, it’s that time -through technology- is ever increasing our existence around what feels like information for, at least, two lifetimes -hence, the valuation we place towards ourselves makes us reflect at a slower pace than technology, psychologically, is moving around us.
