Two men suspected of punching an ATM customer in the face and stealing his money Sunday afternoon were quickly taken into police custody.

The 35-year-old victim was inside the ATM area at the CIBC Bank at 304 Victoria St. about 1:30 p.m. when he was attacked and robbed. RCMP say the thieves left in a small vehicle and 10 minutes later, Kamloops RCMP members located the vehicle with two occupants several blocks away.

Two males were arrested. The victim received medical treatment for injuries to his face.

Today (Monday, Jan. 2, 2017), George Young of Kamloops appeared for a bail hearing on a charge of robbery. Young was remanded into custody until Thursday when he is to appear in Kamloops Provincial Court.
