42-year-old man dies after early morning fight on Tranquille Road

A man is dead after an early morning fight on Tranquille Road today (Friday, Dec. 30, 2016).

RCMPPolice were called to the 400 block Tranquille at about 2:49 a.m. after receiving a report of a fight that left the man unconscious.

Police and ambulance found the 42-year-old and administered medical assistance but he died of his injuries at the scene. Police did not indicate the nature of his injuries.

The Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating and is asking anyone with information to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) to remain anonymous.

“The Kamloops RCMP is aware that there were several witnesses to this event and those persons are strongly encouraged to come forward as soon as possible,” said Sgt. Karen Delorey.
