Driver killed as vehicle rolls several times on East Trans-Canada Highway

police-lights3One person is dead after a single-vehicle accident near the 7400 block of the East Trans-Canada Highway Monday night (Nov. 14, 2016).

The vehicle went out of control on an almost-straight stretch of highway about 8:40 p.m. and rolled several times, killing the driver.

A half dozen police cruisers and at least two ambulances rushed to the scene as traffic detoured by using the off and on ramps near the Flying J truck stop on Kokanee Way. Passing motorists helped re-direct traffic until police arrived.

RCMP released no further details and did not identify the victim pending notification of next of kin. They are investigating to determine the cause of the incident.
