The Mac’s Convenience Store at 205 Tranquille Road was robbed at knifepoint early today, and so far the thieves are still on the loose.

It happened at 6:30 a.m. when two men entered the store and robbed the clerk. No one was injured, but the thieves made off with cigarettes and cash.

RCMP say the men were driving a 2010 black Kia Sedan, possibly bearing B.C. license plate 923XPH, which had been stolen early in the night from the South Shore.

The suspect bearing the knife was described as:

Caucasian

About 30 years old

Brown beard with no mustache

5 ft.10 inches tall, medium build

Green horizontal striped hoodie

Camo bandana

Black cap

Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating these men and the stolen vehicle. Do not approach them, call 911, 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
