Now for the good news — cartoonist Adrian Raeside is staying

RaesideLast week the Victoria Times Colonist announced it was ending its association with B.C.’s award-winning editorial cartoonist Adrian Raeside. The newspaper said the days when a newspaper could afford the services of a full-time editorial cartoonist were past.

The news was greeted with disappointment by many readers. The good news is that Raeside will continue to draw editorial cartoons, and he has agreed to continue providing them to readers of The Armchair Mayor News.

Great! I love Raeside’s editorial cartoons–timely, cutting black humour. How about a few lampooning the monstrous open-pit copper mine proposed for the doorstep of Kamloops, Mr. Raeside? Lots of fodder there.

  3. Excellent! He represents an art form that has serious health challenges in today’s electronic media – his work is valuable and shouldn’t be allowed to disappear!
