SPORTS — There’s still time to be one of several hundred people who will sweat for a good cause Sunday in the 4th annual Kamloops Marathon.

MarathonOnline registration is open until 4 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday. Race package pickup and expo is Saturday 12 to 5 p.m. at the second floor of McArthur Island Sports Centre.

Coordinator Jared Byrne said he’s hoping the event will see increased numbers this year.

Start time for the marathon is bright and early Sunday — 6 a.m. — followed by the half marathon at 6:30, 8 km. at 9 and 3 km. at 10:30.  Lots of water stations along the route, which goes toward Oak Hills, will help runners stay hydrated.

Medals will be awarded for the top three times, both male and female, in the marathon, half marathon and 8-km, and the top group time for the marathon relay, and top three times in each age category, male and female, for the full and half marathons.

The marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. Proceeds go to help TRU athletes.

Full details are here.
