Stabbing, hit and run, mail theft on weekend

NEWS/ POLICE — RCMP were busy on the weekend, reporting the following incidents:

Man stabbed in neck

RCMPOn July 19 at about 5 a.m. Kamloops RCMP were called to the intersection of St. Paul Street and 7th Avenue for a report of a stabbing. The found that the male victim had called 911 himself after being stabbed in the neck following an altercation. The victim was transported to Royal Inland Hospital for treatment of his injuries and remains in serious but stable condition. Police are seeking anyone who may have witnessed, or has knowledge of this incident to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS)

 

Pedestrian hit and run at Sun Peaks

Kamloops Rural RCMP were called to a hit and run incident at Sun Peaks at 3 a.m. Sunday. A group of three males were walking along Sun Peaks Road when a dark coloured older model Chevy S-10 type pick-up truck struck the last male in the group. The victim, a 30-year-old man, was thrown off the roadway and suffered serious head and lower body injuries. The victim was transported to Royal Inland Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition. Police are seeking anyone with information on this hit and run or know of a vehicle fitting the suspect description operating in the Sun Peaks area to contact the Kamloops Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).

Mail theft suspects nabbed

On Saturday, July 18 at about 7:30 p.m. Kamloops RCMP were called to the Batchelor Drive area for a report of people breaking into the mailboxes at Batchelor Drive and Grasslands Blvd. Police were provided an excellent description of the suspects and vehicle, including a license plate number from the witness. Due to the amount of detail provided by the witness, police were able to locate and identify the suspects a short distance away from the original crime scene. So far the investigation has netted charges against a 28-year-old woman and 20-year-old man, who were both expected to appear in court this morning on charges of possession of stolen property, possession of break in instruments, and theft of mail.
