Man chased, arrested after domestic disturbance

NEWS/ POLICE — A man faces numerous charges after a woman was assaulted at Tobiano last night.

RCMPKamloops rural RCMP were called about 9 p.m. to a domestic disturbance near the boat launch at Tobiano where a man was seen assaulting a woman. He fled in a vehicle.

Police saw the vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 1 and tried to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle fled from police and was seen entering the Inks lake area off Highway 5. Police set up containment in the Lac Le Jeune area, and with the assistance of Air 4 and a Police Service dog, a man known to police was arrested.

In another incident later Wednesday night, police stopped a vehicle in the Valleyview area and found  two loaded firearms and some drugs and cash. Three people were arrested and remain in custody.
