Lots planned for Seniors Picnic

COMMUNITY — If you’re a senior citizen, mark next Friday on your calendar. The 2015 Seniors’ Picnic takes place at Riverside Park on Friday, July 17, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

arena2The event is a great opportunity to enjoy the weather, make new friends and help others this summer. Be sure to bring a water bottle, hat and sunscreen.

Activities include bocce, croquet, Zumba, OsteoFit, arts and crafts and a photo booth. Free lunch will be provided by the Lions Paddlewheelers group and music by the Kamloops Rube Band.

Free parking will be available at Interior Savings Centre, Heritage House and the west parking lot at Riverside Park. Bylaw services officers will be available to assist with parking. Due to limited parking, all seniors are encouraged to take public transit, car pool or find alternative ways to get to the park.

This event is free, but participants must register in advance by calling 250-828-3500 with program No. 239439, or visit http://www.kamloops.ca/ezreg.

Anyone interested in volunteering for this event can call Kirsten Herman at Encore Senior Society, 250-828-0600.
