Motorcyclist dies in accident on Highway 5A

B.C. Coroners ServiceNEWS/ CORONER — The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motorcycle incident near Kamloops on Thursday. He was Colin Leslie Mackay, aged 42, of Vancouver.

Mackay was the operator of a motorcycle heading northbound on Highway 5A at about 1:20 p.m. About 10 kilometres south of Kamloops, in an area known as Cardieu Hill, Mackay lost control on an uphill curve. His motorcycle left the road and cartwheeled down a 12-metre embankment.

He was deceased at the scene.
