Firearms, stolen property seized from Elder Road residence

NEWS/ POLICE — Several rifles and a large amount of stolen property were seized in a police raid on a house in the 800 block of Elder Road.

Kamloops RCMP reported a variety of policing issues today.

RCMP said today the Kamloops Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant on the home June 5.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush said five long-barreled firearms and a large amount of stolen property was found in the residence. The majority of the stolen items included construction tools and equipment from construction sites as well as restricted and prohibited firearms.

A man arrested at the residence faces several firearms-related offences. The investigation is ongoing and Bush said further property related charges are expected.
