Artists come together for nature

Green artART — More than 40 local, regional and international visual artists, filmmakers and designers will display works inspired by nature and sustainability at an art festival Aug. 7-9.

The first annual summer art festival — Midnight Sun 2015 — will be held at the Village Day Lodge and other venues at Sun Peaks. Sponsored by the Green Art Festival Association, the exhibit opens 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 with live music.

Various events including a wine tasting, silent auction, art sale and outdoor film screenings will be held through to the Sunday. For more information and tickets, go to greenartfestival.org.
