Police seize drugs and replica gun

NEWS/ POLICE — A replica handgun and some meth and heroin were seized as Kamloops RCMP made three arrests following a fight at a motel in the 100 block Columbia Street on Monday afternoon.

RCMP cruiserPolice answered a report of two men fighting at the motel shortly after noon, and were told a handgun might be involved in a threat.

A short time later police saw a man in the area carrying what appeared to be a black handgun. Staff-Sgt. D.J. Lucas said surveillance was set up and the area isolated. The man and two others were taken into custody without incident when they attempted to leave the area.

All three persons are known to the police, said Lucas. Undisclosed amounts of meth and heroin were found in at least one person’s possession. A replica handgun was also seized.

The investigation continues and police are looking at possible charges.
