Police find hit-and-run truck; no arrests

UPDATE — Police confirm they’ve located the vehicle they were searching for earlier this morning (Thursday). It was found abandoned near Fortune Drive and Vernon Avenue.

The pickup truck was involved in a hit-and-run accident at Ord Road and Westsyde Road just before 6:30 a.m. Police haven’t made any arrests.

NEWS/ POLICE — Kamloops RCMP are searching for a vehicle that caused a collision at the intersection of Ord Road and Westsyde Road just before 6:30 a.m. today (Thursday).

police vanCpl. Cheryl bush said the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed after it struck a vehicle at the intersection. One occupant of the vehicle that was struck was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with minor injuries.

The vehicle police are looking for is a 2008 grey Dodge Ram Pickup with license plate JA9751 attached to it at the time. The vehicle has front-end damage and a dent on the driver side door. At the time of the incident there was a dark green mountain bike in the back of the truck.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP immediately.
