NEWS — A vehicle fire became a grass fire today (Wednesday) in the Lac du Bois Road area.

Kamloops Fire Rescue extinguished the fire by mid-morning, and Kamloops RCMP are investigating why the vehicle caught fire.

The fire was spotted about 8:30 a.m. No further details were available.

In another matter, the Wildfire Management Branch is asking the public to be careful with outdoor burning due to dry and windy conditions. Anyone wishing to light an open fire must watch for changing weather conditions and follow all burning regulations in order to reduce the number of preventable fires.
