Three in custody after Pineview vehicles broken into

NEWS/ POLICE — Two women and a man are in police custody after a number of vehicles were broken into in the Pineview area.

RCMPKamloops RCMP responded to a call around 3 a.m. today (Monday) and took two women into custody who were reportedly breaking into vehicles. A 51-year-old man was also located in the area and taken into police custody to determine his involvement.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush said both of the females have had previous police dealings; a 25-year-old was found to be in breach of a probation order and a 38-year-old had two outstanding warrants.

Police are continuing their investigation and expect more vehicle owners may discover thefts.

“It was learned from the suspects that they had observed several vehicles with wallets in them, but didn’t have time to break into them,” said Bush.

“This is another reminder to the public not to leave items in their vehicles. This is a crime of opportunity and these people are out looking for vehicles with items visible.”
