Reading, workshop at library
The Thompson-Nicola Regional District’s Library System is hosting a free reading and workshop with B.C. artist and author Michael Markowsky at the North Kamloops Library on Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m.
Markowsky will read excerpts from his upcoming semi-fictional book Drawing the Camino, which documents his pilgrimage walk on the Camino de Santiago through northwest Spain. In addition, he will talk about his previous book, Arts In Store: Rethinking the Relationship between Art and Business, which provides creative professionals with concrete business advice on how to make money pursuing their passion.
In July 2013, Markowsky became the first person to make art while flying at supersonic speeds in a Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet fighter jet plane. For the past few months Markowsky has been building a sculpture inside the Kamloops Art Gallery.
