Kamloops man suffers possible gunshot wound in assault

RCMPNEWS/ POLICE — A 27-year-old Kamloops man was injured and may have suffered a gunshot wound during an aggravated assault.

The man went to Royal Inland Hospital for medical attention but there were no further details today (Saturday) about what led to the injuries, how he got to hospital, or when the assault occurred.

However, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, said RCMP Sgt. Michael Buxton-Carr. The investigation is being led by the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit.

“This incident is believed to be isolated, with no known threat to members of the public,” he said.
