NEWS/ POLICE — Kamloops RCMP are working with the B.C. Coroners Service after the discovery of a body in the South Thompson River Thursday afternoon.

RCMP were notified of the discovery on a sand bar to the west of the Tranquille farm area and were taken to the location by the Kamloops Fire and Rescue boat. B.C. Coroners Service attended and were assisted by Kamloops Fire and Rescue in the removal of the body. The investigation into the identity and cause of death will be undertaken by the Coroners Service.

It’s not known whether foul place was involved, and no further details were available from police.
