The City has retained RDH Building & Engineering to investigate the situation. The interior cedar ceiling panels have started to sag and the pool will be closed until further notice to remove the panels.

While the panels are off, the City will undertake a complete roof assessment and determine what further action, if any, is required. The issue pertains to the pool area only and the fitness facility will remain open.

City staff are contacting swim lesson registrants to discuss available options. Westsyde Pool pass holders will be able to access the Canada Games Aquatic Centre during the pool closure.

For status updates on the temporary closure of Westsyde Pool refer to http://www.kamloops.ca/swim or call 250-828-3616 during business hours.
