Incar almost ready by buy vehicles

COMMUNITY — A Kamloops carsharing group is getting ready to take a big step — buying vehicles.

CarshareInterior CarShare Co-operative, or InCar, was registered as a non-profit cooperative a year ago, following a model of other carhsare cooperatives in similar sized cities such as Kelowna and Nanaimo.

InCar now has several individual and joint members. As the number of individual and organizational members grows, “The group is getting ready to take the critical step of actually going out and buying the CarShare vehicles,“ said Dylan Houlihan, acting president of InCar.

InCar is planning an information session Thursday, Feb. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Smorgasbord Deli on 7th Avenue near Victoria Street.

The organization’s vision is to provide a new economically and environmentally friendly transportation option to the community through car sharing.

The group is also conducting a brief survey, which can be found on the home page of the InCar website: http://www.interiorcarshare.ca.

The info session on Feb. 26 is open to the public, and interested people will have the opportunity to register as InCar members at the event.
