Short Shorts festival on March 8

ARTS/ ENTERTAINMENT — The Kamloops Film Society’s 8th Annual Kamloops Independent Short Shorts (KISS) Film Festival will take place at the Paramount Theatre on Sunday, March 8 from 1 to 2:45 p.m.

Film-KISSThe annual KISS competition is open to film entries from all independent filmmakers living in Kamloops and the surrounding region of Interior B.C.

While the event is usually held in May on the TRU campus, this year the event will run in conjunction with the Kamloops Film Festival http://www.kamloopsfilmfest.ca and will take place at the Paramount Theatre.

The “short shorts” in the KISS name refers to the maximum length of the films — five minutes or less. The KISS competition guidelines advise that all entries must be showable to all audiences, since children will be in attendance at the competition screening, which is a free event open to the public.

The deadline for submitting entries to the KISS competition is March 6, 6 p.m. and the screening of the films and awarding of prizes will be on March 8, 1 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre on Victoria Street.
