Several arrests made after ERT operation
NEWS/ POLICE — Police made several arrests in the South Kamloops area today, Friday, in a weapons-related situation “that heightened the level of risk to the public and police personnel.”
Const. Jason Epp reported about 9:30 p.m. that an operation involving Kamloops RCMP and the South East District Emergency Response Team had been concluded as of 8:30 p.m.
“… There is no further risk to the public,” he stated.
He said several arrests were made throughout the day and that ERT was involved “due to information received.”
No further information as to location or details of the operation were released but Scan Kamloops tweeted several photos from the vicinity of the Star Lodge on Columbia Street. Epp expected further details to be available Monday.
