Police out in full force to keep watch over New year’s Eve

NEWS/ POLICE — Kamloops RCMP are reminding the public to have a safe and responsible New Year’s Eve.

The detachment will have a full complement of officers working throughout the night as well as extra support units on shift.

The traffic enforcement unit will have roadblocks throughout the city to ensure that designated drivers are being used. Alternative transportation methods include cabs, public transit, or Operation Red Nose.

“Our message is to be responsible in your own actions as well as look after your friends and family,” said Cpl. Cheryl Bush.

“Be sure that you and the people you are celebrating with make appropriate choices, especially in regards to drinking and driving.”
