New Year’s Eve family event

COMMUNITY – Looking for something fun, and not too late, for the whole family on New Year’s Eve? Then the place to be is St. Ann’s Academy for an early evening of fun for all ages.

Starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening in the St. Ann’s gymnasium, “A New Year’s Eve in Tanzania” will feature games, appetizers, crafts and music for $25 per family, with tickets available at the door.

The evening culminates at 9 p.m. with a New Year’s countdown, so parents can take little ones home early, and carry on with other New Years plans.

The evening is also a fundraising project for a group of local high school and university students going on a mission trip to Tanzania in the summer of 2015.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the cost of drilling another well and building a windmill and water system in a village in central Tanzania. This will be the eighth volunteer group from Kamloops to bring water and other basic necessities to the people of central Tanzania over the past decade.
