Lavack, the MBA program co-ordinator at Thompson Rivers University School of Business and Economics, won on behalf of a group of seven of her students who are producing a documentary about the Kamloops Food Bank.

The short film will demonstrate the impact of the food bank on the greater Kamloops community and will be seen on the organization’s website.

Vanderlip won for her short film about flying in the Thompson-Nicola region.

The 2014 bursaries were sponsored by Downtown Reel Productions, a production company that the TNFC worked with to find locations. The winning short films will be screened at next year’s Kamloops Short Shorts Film Festival, which takes place during the Kamloops Film Festival in March.
