Break-ins at businesses keep police busy

NEWS/ POLICE — A rash of businesses broken into overnight on Nov. 13 and into the morning of Nov. 14 has kept investigators busy.

RCMPBy late morning on Nov. 14 it was determined that 13 businesses were hit and RCMP have been busy ever since processing various pieces of evidence gained from the scenes.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush said Monday The investigation is ongoing, but through the use of photo line-ups, DNA, fingerprints and video surveillance a suspect has been identified, but not yet arrested.

The male is believed to be a Lower Mainland area resident and has been linked to several of the break ins, Bush said. Police continue to work on identifying a second suspect.

Some of the businesses that were targeted had alarms that alerted police, while others were discovered when employees came to work in the morning. Police recovered a stolen F350 pickup that was involved in several of the incidents and recovered some of the stolen property involved.
