Most wonderful time of the year

It’s the last two days to visit Barb’s Used Book & Music Sale, ends Saturday, Nov. 29. This sale is an annual fundraiser for the Kamloops Symphony, with most items costing only $2. A great time to stock up on your winter reading materials, plus sheet music, movies and CD’s. Find them at Sahali Mall.

Rensch, JennIn it’s 30th year, check out the Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, Nov. 29, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Line up (bringing a small outdoor concert chair is welcome) on Victoria Street from 2nd to 6th Avenue and take in the fun decorated floats, music, caroling and there’s always a treat or two for the little ones. Make sure to dress warm, I recommend a blanket just in case, as the weatherman is predicting a cold one.

Want to warm up after the parade? Visit Christmas in the Courthouse. This annual fine art and craft sale is the perfect time to visit the Old Courthouse Heritage building, as it’s beautifully decorated for the season, all while finding that unique gift for all the special people on your holiday shopping list. A family-friendly event as there will be music, face painting and a concession. From art cards, jewelry, paintings and pottery, you won’t be disappointed in the local hand made selection. Open Nov. 29 – 30, 10 a.m-4 p.m.

Jenn Rensch works for a local non-profit and highlights her picks each week for the Armchair Mayor News.
