Victoria Street business evacuated, alley closed off

UPDATE — On Saturday, Nov. 22 at 5:30 p.m. Kamloops RCMP were able to conclude this matter and allow the affected business to re-open.

The item in question was deemed not to be suspicious and the Kamloops RCMP would like to thank those affected for their assistance and understanding in this matter. 

NEWS/ POLICE — A business was evacuated and part of a back alley of the 400 block Victoria Street was closed off Saturday afternoon as RCMP investigated a report of a suspicious item.

The report was received at 1:38 p.m. and police closed an area of the alley while they investigated. Staff-Sgt. Lane Jumaga said the business was evacuated as a precaution. No further information was available and the matter remains under investigation.
