Suspect caught five minutes after bank robbery

NEWS/ POLICE — A bank robbery Friday afternoon was short-lived.

police vanRCMP Staff-Sgt. D.J. Lucas reports that a man walked into the Kamloops Interior Savings Credit Union at 350 Lansdowne about 3 p.m. and produced a note to a teller demanding money. No weapon was produced.

The man was given a small amount of money and then fled on foot. A suspect was located by General Duty units about five minutes later walking nearby and taken into custody without incident. The money and note were recovered.

A 23 year old suspect man is being held for a judicial hearing in the morning. The investigation is ongoing.
