No one injured as vehicle hits front of bank building

NEWS/ POLICE — No one was injured when a late model GMC Terrain was driven into the front of the Scotia Bank on Notre Dame St. just after 10 a.m. Friday.

The driver of the vehicle, a Kamloops area woman in her ’70s, and her male passenger were shaken up and were examined at the scene by B.C. Ambulance paramedics. No customers in the bank were injured.

Damage to the building was extensive as the vehicle completely penetrated the structure, shattering the front glass window and taking out the supporting cement base wall.

The vehicle has been impounded pending a mechanical inspection. RCMP said the incident is still under investigation and no charges have been laid.
