Driver killed in single-vehicle accident near The Dunes

RCMPNEWS/ POLICE — The lone occupant of a vehicle was killed today (Thursday) on Westsyde Road near The Dunes golf course.

The accident occurred about 6:45 a.m., stopping traffic for part of the morning. The road was re-opened to single-lane alternating traffic shortly before 8 a.m.

RCMP were advising motorists to avoid the area if possible.

The driver was identified as being 57 years old. Police are investigating the cause.
