Chamber to make budget pitch on B.C. debt and taxes
NEWS/ BUSINESS — Debt and taxes will be the focus of a Kamloops Chamber of Commerce submission to a B.C. government committee looking at the 2015 budget.
The chamber will make a presentation Tuesday to the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services as part of the 2015 B.C. budget consultations.
Representatives from the chamber will present the issues identified by a member task force. Debt reduction, the property transfer tax, carbon tax, municipal property taxes and multi-year certainty for arts and business will be the key focuses of the presentation.
“This is a great opportunity to offer input direct from our members on issues related to finances of the province,” said chamber president Aleece Laird of Fresh Inc.
