Writer shares tales of gambling
The TNRD Library System is hosting a reading and discussion led by B.C. author Bob Bossin on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m., at the Kamloops Library. Bossin will be reading from his non-fiction book Davy the Punk.
Bossin’s latest book focuses on his father’s life in the gambling business of the first half of the 20th century in Toronto, as well as his family’s journey from a mid-19th century shtetl in Ukraine to mid-20th century Toronto.
Bossin has been a renowned Canadian singer and songwriter for 40 years and when he is not writing music, he is usually writing something else. His essays and journalism have appeared in most major Canadian newspapers and magazines. In 2003, he was nominated for a National Magazine Award.
The event is free, but space is limited, so please contact the library to reserve a spot. For more information contact Audrey Ambrus, Readers’ Advisor: 250-372-5145; aambrus@tnrd.ca.
