Baby & Me Art Exploration

This fall, join the Kamloops Art Gallery for 45 minutes of fun, mess and exploration with plant and vegetable pigment markers, crayons and paints.

Baby&meBaby & Me Art Exploration
Thursdays at 11 a.m.

Sept. 25: Drawing
Oct. 30: Animal Masks
Nov. 27: Painting

It will begin in the gallery with a brief exhibition tour designed for toddlers and then will head into the studios to make some art. In September, drawing will be explored—making dots, lines, shapes and creatures on giant sheets of paper. In October, the group will talk about favourite animals, make masks and practice their best animal noises in preparation for trick or treating. In November, experimenting with paint— painting with fingers, brushes, cars and dinosaurs.

All materials are made using natural pigments and dyes derived from plants, safe for young children who think everything is food. Making art with toddlers is messy— participants are advised to dress in something they won’t mind getting a little beet or spinach pigment paint splatter on.

The classes are free for children under three and their parents and guardians. No registration is required. Call the gallery 250-377-2400 or visit kag.bc.ca for more information.
