Canoe come to author’s reading?

OslerARTS — The TNRD Library System is hosting a reading and discussion led by B.C. writer Sanford Osler on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2 p.m., at the Kamloops Library. Osler will be reading from and discussing his non-fiction book Canoe Crossings: Understanding the Craft.

Osler’s book traces the evolution of the various types of canoes (broadly defined to include kayaks and dragon boats) found in B.C. from their first appearance here to the present, and looks at the impact they have had on the province and its people.

Osler has been involved with canoes since his childhood and has paddled in virtually all the types of craft covered in his book. He has researched canoes extensively and talked to many of the colourful characters involved with them in B.C.

The event is free, but space is limited, so please contact the library to reserve a spot.
