School’s in at 10:30 a.m. Monday

NEWS/ SCHOOLS — Classes will start Monday at 10:30 a.m. for elementary and secondary classes in the Kamloops-Thompson School District.

Buses will remain parked again Thursday.

Buses will roll again Monday.

The district issued a notice to parents Friday confirming that school is back pending ratification by trustees of the teachers’ contract settlement with the provincial government. Teachers approved the deal Thursday with a vote of 86 per cent in favour.

The notice said buses will pick up all students two hours later than normal for the 10:30 a.m. start, and will deliver elementary students and rural secondary students home about two hours earlier than normal.

Secondary in-town students will be picked up from school at the normal time after the 3 p.m. dismissal. Elementary schools will dismiss students at noon, and rural secondary schools at 12:30 p.m.

Parents of Kindergarten students are being advised to contact their child’s school or check school website for start times. Bus schedules are available on the School District 73 website.
