Rising sun may have been factor in car-pedestrian accident

RCMPNEWS/ POLICE — A rising sun may have been a factor in a pedestrian being hit while crossing Battle Street at 12th Avenue on Monday morning.

The 24-year-old man was in a crosswalk about 7:40 a.m. when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle. He was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP said the 29-year-old female driver remained at the scene and it was determined that neither speed nor alcohol were factors but Cpl. Cheryl Bush said the sun rising in the east may have been.
