Young man with plastic gun caught near school picket line

police vanNEWS/ POLICE — A young male with a plastic gun caused striking teachers in Dufferin some anxiety this morning.

Kamloops RCMP responded after a call was received at 7:40 a.m. reporting a male in the area of the school with a long gun.

Several teachers on the picket line reported seeing the young man, who was taken into custody, and a plastic weapon recovered.

Nobody was hurt during the incident and police continue to investigate.
