Police investigate stabbing incident

RCMPNEWS/ POLICE — Kamloops RCMP are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred overnight. Around 2 a.m., police were called to the area of Nicolani Drive, where residents stated that a man was yelling in the street.

The 38-year-old man was taken to Royal Inland Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening stab wounds.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush said it was not a random incident and may be related to other events reported earlier in the evening. The victim is likely known to the person or persons responsible, she said.

As the investigation continues, police are asking anyone with information to call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or call Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
