Information booths from a variety of social justice groups, labour and political organizations will be on site.

“Most things we cherish in our society have arrived via the hands of working class folks, whether it’s the hospital workers that ensure everything’s running right in the delivery room, the delivery driver who brings you that special gift on time, or the counsellor that makes an essential intervention in a distraught young person’s life,” said KDLC President Peter Kerek.

“Our society’s always looking for heroes and Labour Day’s a grand opportunity to celebrate our working class heroes.”

The KDLC represents roughly 10,000 unionized workers in the Kamloops region and is a member of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC). The CLC represents about three million unionized Canadians.
