Calgary man killed in Shuswap Lake boating accident

RCMPNEWS — A 50-year-old Calgary man has been named as the victim of a boating accident on Shuswap Lake near Sicamous last Saturday.

Darryl John Johnston was operating a 35-foot cabin cruiser on the lake about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 16 when it crashed into a rock face, throwing him into the water.

An RCMP dive team recovered the body from about six metres of water at Hungry Cove on Shuswap Lake on Monday morning.

The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP are investigating.
