Motorcyclist dies in main street crash

NEWS/ POLICE — A 32-year-old motorcycle operator was killed Sunday night in a collision with a motor vehicle on the main street of Kamloops.

police vanThe crash occurred about 7 p.m. in the 300 block of Victoria Street West when a west-bound pickup truck collided head-on with an east-bound motorcycle, causing significant damage to both.

The male operator of the motorcycle was taken to Royal Inland Hospital by ambulance, where he died as a result of his injuries.

The 53-year-old male driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. RCMP are asking anyone who saw what happened to call them at 250- 828-3000 or to contact Crime Stoppers at 800- 222-TIPS (8477) or at kamloopscrimestoppers.ca.
