Bill Sundhu to be acclaimed federal NDP candidate

President Garry Worth announced that the party will hold nomination meetings on Saturday in 100 Mile House, Clearwater, and Kamloops.

“After an exhaustive search and consultations across the riding, it is clear that New Democrats are placing their trust in Bill to reclaim this riding for our party,” said Worth. “He is a leader in the legal field and well known throughout the riding.”

Sundhu has practiced law in Williams Lake and Kamloops for more than 30 years and was a provincial court judge for 11 years. Educated in B.C. and Ontario, Sundhu also completed an advanced degree in international human rights law at Oxford.

“I am concerned that the sacrifices and choices made by previous generations of Canadians to build a society based on fairness and equality of opportunity are in peril under the current Conservative government,” said Sundhu.

“Today, we need principled, progressive parliamentarians who are able to reach across the aisle, listen to all voices, make responsible decisions based on evidence and the greater good, and to get things done.”
