Man shot in face will recover
NEWS/ POLICE — A 23-year-old Kamloops man is expected to recover from being shot in the face Saturday night.
RCMP were called to a Fortune Drive home shortly before midnight and found a man on the front step covered in blood from his face to his feet. The man was conscious and was taken to Royal Inland Hospital where it was found he’d been shot in the left cheek and also suffered injuries to his right hand.
Doctors said a bullet was lodged in his back near his spine, requiring surgery.
“The injuries do not appear to be life threatening,” said Staff Sgt. D.J. Lucas.
The scene of the shooting was found to be a nearby house on Fortune Drive, where four people were taken into custody for questioning.
The Kamloops Serious Crime Unit was contacted and immediately responded to the scene. The investigation continues and police are asking if anyone has any further information regarding the shooting to please contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000.
