You can expect to see traditional drumming, dance categories such as chicken and contemporary versus old-style jingle and fancy. Browse the art show and craft booths and place a bid during the Saturday art auction. Also on hand will be a concession, 50-50 ticket sales and the princess pageant. Tickets are $10 a day or $20 for the weekend. For more information go to http://www.tourismkamloops.com/kamloopa-powwow-in-kamloops-british-columbia.

Wendy Weseen presents Memoirs on the Wall at the Arnica Artist Run Centre until Sept. 8. Weseen describes her exhibition as “opening a window into a life well lived, with all its starts, trials and errors, new beginnings and leaps of faith. Memoir on the Wall is a visual representation of my life journey that I have tried to connect to the universal stages humans travel through from birth to death.” The picture included from the exhibition is just one of the many pieces that capture these universal stages of which Weseen speaks. You won’t want to miss the chance to see these three-dimensional assemblages.
