More funding for John Tod Centre

NEWS/ COMMUNITY — The John Tod Centre is $51,890 closer to its $300,000 target thanks to some major donations from the community.

John Tod.KGHM International/ Ajax Project has donated $25,000, the Interior Savings Credit Union $21,890 and the Elks Lodge $5,000. The donors were recognized today at a cheque presentation at the John Tod Centre.

That puts the project at a total of $141,890. Earlier funding came from the Ministry of Health.

Construction on conversion of the former elementary school into a community centre is expected to be completed in time for a grand opening this fall. The centre is open during the construction period.

The project is a partnership between the Boys & Girls Club of Kamloops and the Kamloops Community YMCA/ YWCA.
