Pickup driver killed in collision with semi near Pritchard

PRITCHARD — The driver of a small pickup truck is reported dead after it crossed the centre line and ran into a semi early today (Thursday).

The eastbound pickup was travelling near the intersection of the Trans Canada and Pinantan Lake Road two km. west of Pritchard shortly after midnight when the crash occurred. The driver died at the scene.

Chase RCMP, B.C. Ambulance, and Pritchard volunteer firefighters were called to the scene.

The highway was initially closed but was opened to single lane alternating traffic at about 4:45 a.m.
